Brick Repairs & Replacement
Precise repair and replacement of damaged brickwork — matching existing materials to keep your property looking consistent and structurally sound.
Getting It Right, Not Just Getting It Done
Damaged brickwork is more than an eyesore. Spalled bricks, cracked courses, and failed mortar joints all allow water into the wall — and once moisture gets in, the damage compounds quickly. The sooner it's dealt with properly, the less it costs in the long run.
The most important part of any brick repair job is the match. Getting the colour, texture, and bond pattern right so the repair blends in takes experience and an eye for detail. I source matching stock — including reclaimed bricks where needed — and take the time to get it right.
What I Can Help With
Spalled & Frost-Damaged Bricks
Bricks that have lost their face due to frost damage or moisture ingress are cut out and replaced with matching stock, restoring both appearance and weather resistance.
Cracked & Displaced Courses
Cracking caused by settlement, subsidence, or thermal movement is assessed, the cause identified, and the affected courses rebuilt to a stable, consistent finish.
Arch & Decorative Brickwork
Repairs to arches, soldier courses, and decorative features require careful dismantling and rebuilding to preserve the original profile and appearance.
Lintel & Support Repairs
Failed or corroded lintels can cause brickwork above openings to drop or crack. I carry out the necessary structural repairs and rebuild the affected area.
How I Work
Assessment
I visit the property personally to assess the extent of the damage, identify the underlying cause, and source a matching brick before any work begins.
Safe Removal
Damaged bricks are cut out using an angle grinder with dust extraction — controlling airborne dust and protecting the surrounding masonry. Surrounding joints are prepared the same way, keeping the work area clean and minimising disruption to adjacent brickwork.
Rebuilding
Replacement bricks are bedded in with the correct mortar mix, laid to match the existing bond pattern, and pointed to blend with the surrounding joints.
Finishing
The repaired area is cleaned down and reviewed with you. The goal is a result that's structurally sound and as close to invisible as possible.
